Equalizers

Anyone who has used a home or car stereo has seen the term equalizer, though they may not know what it means. Equalizing music is just a way to make the two major frequencies, which most people know as treble and bass, work well together and are set to the best equalizer settings. While most songs are set up with this idea in mind already, some listeners of music want to change the way that they hear the songs. The equalizer setting suggestions that the songs have built in are not the right mix for these people. They will use the audio equalizer to change the bass and treble settings of the music to their own likings.

Types Of Equalizers

Today most stereos have a graphic equalizer. This equalizer is set up to show the general relationship between the two frequencies, sometimes indicated on equalizers as tone. Another option for the car stereo equalizer of today is a digital audio equalizer. This option is one in which the sounds are digitized and changed, allowing for significant variation. They are a far cry from the vintage equalizers, which allowed much less fluctuation. If you want to add an equalizer, you can get graphic equalizer kits that will allow you to adjust your own settings. There are other specialty options available as well, such as the 3 band clarion equalizer and the 5-band audio equalizer.

Educating Yourself

The key to an audio equalizer is that you need to have something that will change the tones but not allow you to destroy the sound. The basic sound should be kept in place whether you have an electric equalizer or an audio equalizer. You should stick with learning as much as possible about setting a stereo equalizer before you buy. The Pioneer equalizer manual, for instance, will give you good information to get started on changing the equalizer settings in your car. You also should seek out the opinions of others about your car stereo and see what they think of any changes you have made. While you may think having the bass turned up on every song is great, others may think it needs some work. Check with others to get their honest reactions and keep toying with the equalizers if you think that they are not legitimately not happy with whatever changes you have made to your stereo settings.
